My great grandfather was born in waterford in 1893 and moved to north shields (year unknown) to work on the docks. He was on board the ss Jessie maersk when it was torpedoed on the 7th October 1942. His memorial is in london and he was married to Mary Joseph Walsh (was Cockburn)
Any help to find any more information would be greatly appreciated, my nana has just turned 77 and never knew her father, it would be nice to give her more information about him or the ship other than pictures. :)
